April 2021 Monthly Chapter Meeting

April 2021 Monthly Chapter Meeting

Join us for our monthly meeting on Thursday, April 1st at Tony’s Too. Our speaker will be Dr. Linda K. Moore, City Treasurer for the City of Quincy. Dr. Moore will be speaking on Leadership and Civic Involvement.

Why is public engagement important? How do you, as a concerned citizen, use your voice to influence change? This presentation will walk you through a budget simulation tool called Balancing Act which challenges residents to actively balance their own version of the city budget, complete with some of the same constraints put on city management and council members. City Treasurer, Dr. Linda Moore, will walk you through a simulation, then give you an opportunity to balance and submit your own version of the budget. At the end of the presentation, you’ll view a Taxpayer Receipt, an unofficial receipt of how your individual tax dollars are spent.

Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at various locations. Networking begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner, a business-related educational speaker, and a short business meeting beginning at 6:00 p.m. Meeting Fee is $15.00 payable by cash or check at the door.
